Trademark registration is governed by The Trademarks Ordinance 2008.

Filing requirements

• Authorization—TM 48 Form. Signed and sealed (corporate) and need not be notarized or legalized.

• Trade Mark (scanned copy, if available, followed by the hard copy along with the Form TM 48 and Certified copy of the registration if already registered in the country of origin.

• Date/year since when the mark is being in use (unless it is proposed to be used).

•  If registered—certified copy of the trademark registration certificate issued by the country of origin.

Trademark office in Bangladesh is not computerized. Almost everything is done manually. Sometimes registration process may take unusually longer time than expected.
