M. Moksadul Islam
Barrister-at-Law [Lincoln’s Inn (UK)]
Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh
After completion of his graduation from United Kingdom, Mr.
Islam joined the Law Associates where for about two years he had
the opportunity to work with the noted jurist, constitutional
law expert and human rights campaigner, senior advocate M.
Amir-Ul Islam, Barrister-at-Law. He then joined the Chambers
of Dr. M. Zahir, Barrister-at-Law, the eminent jurist,
constitutional law expert and the writer of the only text book
available in Bangladesh on Companies and Securities Law and
worked there for about another two years.
From
the very beginning of his legal career Mr. Islam always
maintained and still maintains a very congenial and welcoming
association with Advocate Mr. Abdul Matin Khasru, former
Law Minister of Bangladesh and a veteran human rights activist.
Mr. Islam also worked as a National Consultant with IRIS
Legal and Judicial Capacity Building Project funded by the
World
Bank. Mr. Islam is involved in writing legal articles and
features on the cotemporary issues which include human rights
and constitutional matters in the dailies, legal journals and on
the internet.
The Rules of Arbitration of the
Bangladesh Council of Arbitration (BCA), framed by Mr. Islam
under the auspices of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of
Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex business body of Bangladesh, is one of his major
achievements. In acknowledgment of his achievement, Mr. Islam
has been appointed the Consultant of
BCA.
