Use of asbestos

We prepared a comprehensive memorandum on the use of asbestos in Bangladesh, legal position regarding use of asbestos and its consequence. It was a huge report covering all the governing laws, rules and regulations regarding use of asbestos in Bangladesh.

 Hindu marriage registration

We advised on Hindu marriage registration for a Hindu Bangladeshi national who lives in Singapore during a court proceeding there in Singapore. The court in Singapore decided the matter considering our opinion as an expert opinion. It may be noted here that there is no provision in Bangladesh to register a Hindu marriage like Muslim and Christian marriage.

 Drugs registration

Recently an extensive research was carried out by Legal Steps for a foreign drug manufacturing company who intended to market one of their brands in Bangladesh. We explained the procedure and the legal position in Bangladesh regarding foreign drug registration. We shared not only the legal position but also the practical situation as gathered by interviewing the administration controls the drug registration in Bangladesh.

Purchase of arms and ammunitions

Being instructed by a foreign arms manufacturing company we conducted serious research on the contractual matters regarding export and import of arms and ammunitions in Bangladesh. We helped our client to understand the legal and factual procedure that was available publicly and based on the basic laws of Bangladesh.

Immigration

We helped world famous IT company, Infosys, regarding immigration law of Bangladesh when some of their employees had to come to Bangladesh on long term and short term basis. It may be noted here that we not only help in getting VISA or work permit in Bangladesh (only Bangladesh and no other country at this moment) but we also explain the law and the procedure regarding visa application. It also may be noted that some of the very basic information regarding VISA and immigration are available in various websites of Bangladesh Government. We, usually, do not answer simple queries and do not recommend any web site regarding anything.

Note: In preparation of any report we always try to prepare an extensive report unless a short report is required by the client. We not only examine the law and explain it to the client in the given circumstances but we also make sure we interview the concerned department or authority personally to know the up-to-date practice and position about the subject matter.
